A pour-over is one of the most transparent brewing methods in coffee. Unlike espresso, where the machine hides most of the process behind a portafilter, or a French press, where the grounds steep out of sight, a pour-over happens in full view. That transparency is a gift: it means nearly every mistake in the brew leaves a visible, audible, or tasteable trace.
