Roastopedia.com | Effective: May 26, 2026 | Last Updated: May 26, 2026
At Roastopedia, we believe knowledge should be free — and so should your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit Roastopedia.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have written this in plain language because legalese is as unpleasant as a bad espresso.
01. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you use our site.
Information You Provide
- Name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or create an account
- Search queries you enter into the Roastopedia search bar
- Comments, feedback, or submissions you send us through contact forms
- Any content you contribute to Roastopedia’s knowledge base, if applicable
- Payment information when purchasing products via CoffeNZO (processed securely by third-party payment providers — we never store card details)
Information Collected Automatically
- IP address and general geographic location (country/city level)
- Browser type, operating system, and device information
- Pages you visit, time spent on each page, and navigation paths
- Referring URLs — the page that brought you to Roastopedia
- Date and time of your visit
02. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to improve your experience and grow the world’s most complete coffee encyclopedia. Specifically, we use it to:
- Deliver, maintain, and improve Roastopedia’s content and search functionality
- Send newsletters, updates, and educational coffee content you have opted into
- Respond to your inquiries, feedback, and support requests

- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
- Comply with legal obligations applicable to us
- Send you order confirmations and updates if you purchase from CoffeNZO
We do NOT sell your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Roastopedia is built on knowledge, not surveillance.
03. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site functioning properly and to understand how it is used. There are three types of cookies we may use:
Essential Cookies
Required for the site to function. These cannot be disabled. They include session management and security tokens.
Analytics Cookies
These help us understand which encyclopedia topics are most visited, which search terms are most common, and how we can improve navigation. We use privacy-respecting analytics tools that anonymize IP addresses.
Preference Cookies
These remember your settings — such as display preferences — across visits. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to read any content on Roastopedia.
